Wash Your Hands Regularly
You may have heard this a million times since you were young, but washing your hands regularly can be the best way to keep the germs from spreading. Make sure to build the habit of washing the hands, before eating, after going from the playroom, petting an animal, and even after you cough or sneeze. It’s a simple habit that can be genuinely beneficial when practised regularly.
Eat Better and Healthier
A healthy and balanced diet is as essential as having a body cleaning routine. Fruits and vegetables are excellent sources of vitamins, minerals and fibre that our body needs to reduce cholesterol levels, boost our immune system and regulate our blood pressure. Start the day with a healthy breakfast to easily refuel the body and have enough energy for the day.
To be assured, it’s ideal to follow a meal plan and experiment with dishes that you find healthier and suitable for your family. Aside from the fruits and vegetables, you may also consider whole grains and low-calorie beverages to go in your meals. Lastly, drink plenty of fluids to keep everyone hydrated!
Stay Free from Allergens
Dust mites, pet dander, mould and a lot of indoor irritants and allergens can cause more problems that you can ever think of. It can easily trigger allergies and asthma to your kids or anyone in the family. As such, it is important to stay free from it as much as possible. A vacuum cleaner with HEPA filter is an excellent choice as it efficiently traps the dust mites and the other allergens in the house.
Additionally, you may consider doing the following:
- Have your sheets and pillowcases changed regularly.
- Clean stuffed animals of the kids as often possible.
- Have your pets groomed to avoid pet dander and invest in a regular litter box.
Control Home’s Moisture and Humidity Level
Too much moisture in the house can be hazardous. It can damage your furniture and promote bacterial growth. However, too little of it may cause dryness of your skin, chapped lips, coughs and trigger other health diseases. As such, it is also your responsibility to keep the humidity level between 35% to 45%.
This humidity level provides the best comfort for your family and also protect your home. To correctly determine how much humidity is in your home, you can use a hygrometer. If the air is too dry and you want to improve the air quality, adding a humidifier can significantly help. Humidifier adds moisture to the air and prevents the dryness that can irritate your body.
With those tips in mind, you’d be able to get started in keeping your family healthy all year round! Just remember, your health is your wealth.
